    A Letter from Coach Theo

    East Hampton Hurricanes,

It was great to see so many kids come to our first practice today.  I enjoyed meeting a lot of the new families, as well as seeing so many return from last summer.  All of the coaches and volunteers are excited for the season to finally be here.

The first day of practice is always a bit chaotic, but we hope that your children had fun. As many of our swimmers are getting in the water for the first time this summer, we are taking time to ease into practices as smoothly as possible.  If your child struggled today, it is not unusual, with all of the excitement, for some kids to be intimidated or nervous.  Encourage them to keep coming, Swim Team IS fun, or we wouldn't have so many returning families. The more time the spend in the water, the more comfortable they will become.

Myself and my assistant coaches are happy to answer any questions you may have, we only ask these are reserved for before or after practice times in order to keep our focus entirely on the swimmers during practice.  If you need to address something at any other times feel free to email me directly as well @Theo Sayre.  There are many people that work hard for this team so that every swimmer will have fun this summer and I am thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing team!

I would like to thank all of you for making this team possible and especially for your patience as we get the season going!

    Go Hurricanes!

    Coach Theo
